Back-to-back Royal Ascot Winner!

After her stellar performance in the G1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot this past Friday, Porta Fortuna can officially claim the title of two-time Royal Ascot winner. It was this time, just one year ago, Porta put her name on the map by winning the G3 Albany at Royal Ascot after winning both previous starts. After her first win at Royal Ascot, she continued her two-year-old campaign with a win in the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes, in addition to three G1 Placings, including a close defeat in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Having such a successful two-year-old career, our partners had high hopes for what this filly could do in her three-year-old season. And as expected, she has not disappointed! Porta Fortuna kicked off the year with a 2nd place finish in the G1 English 1000 Guineas, losing by a neck to Elmalka.  She was able to turn the tables a month later, defeating Elmalka, reigning 2-year-old Champion, Opera Singer, and G1 French 1000 Guineas winner Rouhiya!

Several of our partners that made the trip across the pond to watch Porta Fortuna win the G3 Albany in 2023, returned this year for the hopes that lightening really does strike twice. "It was already unimaginable that she won at this prestigious meet the year before that it almost felt unreasonable to hope that she could do it again as a three-year-old." said partner, Josh Powe before the race. But our good luck charm found it to be quite imaginable and crossed the finish line more than a length ahead.

Post win, trainer Donnacha O'Brien had nothing but high praise for the filly. “Porta Fortuna is so uncomplicated, and Tom [Marquand] gave her a lovely ride,” the winning trainer said. “I was happy the whole way and everything went to plan. It's not too often you can say that, so I'm delighted." (TDN Europe,Donnacha O'Brien On The Board With Porta Fortuna in the Coronation)

Another group of delighted patrons were the partners in attendance who were able to stand for the presentation of the trophy with King Charles. Can't wait to see what's next for our good luck charm!

“An easy one for us. It is attending the Medallion organized events. We’ve been able to connect with great people who love horse racing, like we do, at some incredible venues like Del Mar, Curragh, Keeneland & Saratoga! We have had such amazing experience, that we wouldn’t have been able to have without Taylor Made Partnership."

"Being part of Medallion is a wonderful experience. We get to connect with the top equine athletes in the sport and access to experience the greatest events such as Breeders Cup or Royal Ascot. The most important part to us is the relationships we have made with Medallion team and Taylor Made and really do view them as “family”.

"Sue and I appreciated your hospitality Thursday at Keeneland. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and enjoyed meeting everyone. Taylor Made and Medallion made us feel like part of the family and everything about the day was great - especially the winner’s circle. Hopefully there’ll be more wins to come."
